About Us

About Us

Welcome to Barman AgriLiv, a social enterprise driven by a deep commitment to uplift and empower the Rajbanshi community in the geographically disadvantaged border area of Cooch Behar, West Bengal.

Our Why

Founded by Ranjan Barman, Barman AgriLiv was born out of a profound understanding of the challenges faced by the community. Having grown up in the same village, Ranjan witnessed the struggle of his friends dropping out due to financial constraints, leading to migration for work. The realization that education is a luxury when two meals a day are a struggle ignited the mission to create immediate livelihood opportunities for financial independence.

What We Offer

Barman AgriLiv aims to tackle migration, poverty, and limited educational opportunities through sustainable agricultural practices. Our platform provides knowledge, training, hands-on support, financial assistance, and buyback facilities, with a primary focus on mushroom cultivation and vermicompost.

Mission

Our social mission is to empower the Rajbanshi community by offering immediate livelihood opportunities, primarily through sustainable agricultural practices. We strive to reduce migration, address financial constraints, and improve overall well-being.

Vision

We envision a transformed community where migration is curtailed, poverty is alleviated, and individuals actively contribute to their families' education and well-being. Our work aims to create a positive cycle of economic stability and comprehensive community development.

Desired Impact

Through empowering women in the village with income-generating opportunities, we aim to inspire positive change. As women start earning, we believe it will encourage men to engage in the same field, reducing migration and fostering a society that prioritizes education and well-being.

How We Operate

Exploring market opportunities in mushroom cultivation and vermicompost, we seek to serve local and regional demands. By producing fresh and dried mushrooms, along with value-added products, and supplying vermicompost, we plan to reach customers through local markets, schools, online platforms, and offline stores.
